Celebrating Grandma Max's 90th Birthday

Our family headed to Decatur, Indiana this weekend to celebrate my Grandma Max's 90th birthday. We had a nice luncheon at The Back 40, where 50 of my relatives showed up for the celebration. Ruby Maxine is an amazing, loving and sweet woman. She was very happy to see all of us together again and it was so nice to spend time with my aunts, uncles and cousins.

Fun in the Tub

The girls love their bath time and playing in the tub. It's usually a battle to get them out of it before they are shivering from the cold water. It's one of the rare times they actually get along and never have a reason to argue. I still remember the pictures taken of my sister, brother and I, when we were kids, all in the tub together. I'm sure these will come back many years from now to embarass them.

Valentines Day with Grandma and Grandpa

My parents came over to hangout on Valentine's Day. We had a nice afternoon visiting and making a good dinner: pot roast with red potatoes, carrots and salad. The girls had a great time playing with Grandma and Grandpa. They colored, made jewelry, played house and many games of Candyland.
Rae's 3rd attempt of a picture of my mom and I. Getting ready to put the roast together.
Coloring lots of pictures with the girls.
Grandpa playing Candyland with Raegan and Grandma playing King's Castle with Jordyn.

14 Week Prenatal Checkup

I had my 14 week checkup this morning and everything went great. The heartbeat was good and strong and that always gives me peace of mind after a long month so early in the pregnancy. I can't wait for the baby to start moving around so I can "keep tabs" on how it's doing. Next appointment I will be having my 1 hour glucose screening to check for diabetes. Having it 8 weeks early because I have been diabetic with both of my other pregnancies so the doctor wants to catch it early if I'm already showing signs. Keeping my fingers crossed that I pass the test, but really not expecting it. Not looking forward to poking my fingers 4 times a day but it's worth the trouble to have a healthy pregnancy and baby. :) Only gained 1 lb. so far this whole pregnancy! I guess the nausea was the reason for that. Although, that's completely gone now and I would eat all day long if I could. HA HA! Nothing like waking up in the morning and my first thought being, "Wonder what's for breakfast today?" Hoping for this next month to fly by and looking forward to the ultrasound in the next 5 weeks or so.

Some more sledding

Once we got home from the Lake, the girls decided they wanted to try out the snow at our house. Here they are getting ready to go sledding behind the snowmobile. I have a feeling that they will be dropping like rocks tonight after all the fun they had this weekend.

Weekend at the Lake and Pokagon

We decided to take the girls to the lake for a weekend get-away. Friday night we went to the Ft. Wayne Boat Show to see all the new boats coming out for the summer. It's always fun to go there and "pick out" our dream boat. The girls had a blast playing house on all the different pontoon boats and weren't ready to leave. After a total of 3 hours of driving, due to a mini winter storm, we finally made it to the lake.
The next day we started the sunny morning with some Tom's Donuts and the girls talked me into getting down the Lego bin. They had a great time dumping it out, looking at them and then deciding they wanted to play house instead. I think the Lego's were a little overwhelming for them. They didn't have a clue where to start. After playing on the icy lake all morning we took the girls to Acapulco's (mexican restaurant) for lunch. We were the only ones in there! The scene is definately quieter at the lake during the winter. After that our friends, the Hampton's, arrived and we got the girls ready for some tobaggoning at Pokagon.
When we got to Pokagon and the kids saw how steep the run was we were all wondering if any of them would even go down it. But they were all very brave and each went down the run. It's was VERY busy and took us over an hour to go down just two times. After that they were pretty much done and frozen. We headed back to the cottage to play some more and hangout for the rest of the day. It was a great weekend and so nice to get away for a couple days. We can't wait to go again in the summer!

AJ's new look! Really, we pretty much dared him to poke these earrings through his holes and wear them.

Playing the piano with some Jordyn flair

Jordyn was showing me how she could "play" the piano while sitting on top of it. She put on a whole show singing Jingle Bells (her favorite song) and Itsy Bitsy Spider. May have an entertainer on our hands. She loves to "rock out" on her play guitar too.

Playing the piano backwards.
